Laura Lachman is a photographer who is currently based in Tel Aviv. She was born in Jerusalem, Israel and moved to NYC in 2010 to pursue a degree in photography from The School of Visual Arts. She graduated with honors in 2014 and moved back to Israel in 2017.

After a long search for her own voice in photography, Laura started using photographic sessions as a therapeutic tool for both herself and the people she photographs. By sharing her own fears and suppressed feelings with other people who might have had similar experiences to hers, she discovered that she creates a safe space for healing.

Laura’s photographs are often seen as melancholic; the exposure of vulnerability and emotion indicates a real access to a person’s inner world. She addresses difficult subjects in her projects and attempts to create conversations about them by alluring the viewers in with beauty.
